Executive producer
Got a sensitive film, series or project? DOES IT need a steady editorial lead TO navigate through the complex editorial challenges and duty of care needed to successfully get to TX?
Often companies get a fantastic commission but increasingly it involves complex access, vulnerable contributors and a need for thorough duty of care to get these stories successfully to transmission.
Erica has over 15 years experience filming and making documentaries, nearly ten of them as a director.
She has extensive knowledge creating films with some of the most difficult access and vulnerable contributors in the industry.
As the editorial lead, she sets up thorough duty of care support, maintains positive collaborative relationships with contributors for the film to have maximum impact and supports the publicity to allow the strongest films to land with the wider public.
Erica has worked and filmed with survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse, rape and families of those murdered as well as those suffering from poverty and mental health conditions. She has most recently worked with state hostages imprisoned for years and separated from their families, which is a very unique trauma to navigate.
She has worked with the police, barristers, the ambulance service, social services, charities, government ministers among others.
Erica has years of editorial experience in complex editorial policy, defamation, copyright and privacy law, getting films either new episodes commissioned or extended, being point of contact with commissioners, overseeing series edits and viewings and being involved in transmission deliverables and press.
She has also been involved in budget discussions and decisions from commission to delivery and has delivered international reversions for distribution along with trailers and other sales material.
Erica will now be executive producer on documentary films and series when she is not directing herself.
